The most important Gateway tool available to researchers is the Database Search, which simultaneously searches several large databases, including a premier health database (PubMed) and a premier agricultural one (AGRICOLA). The database search box is located on the right panel of the website. Searches can be targeted to a particular database – or to more than one – by checking the ballot boxes below the search box. If you are a r egistered user of the site, you can save searches, email them directly to a friend, or share them through a social bookmarking site.

Researchers can also take advantage of the Gateway’s Browse-by-Subject library, which is located in the left panel of the website. The library includes reports, journal articles, relevant organizations and other helpful resources, arranged within several dozen topic areas.
