Food Systems >> Food Policy Councils
Food policy councils (FPCs) bring together stakeholders from diverse food-related sectors to examine how the food system is operating and to develop recommendations on how to improve it (Community Food Security Coalition). The first food policy council in the U.S. started in Knoxville, Tenn., in 1982, and there are now almost 50 councils in the country.
